Orange ombres evoke a nostalgic palette for this retro colour story.
Under the orange glow of an iconic lamp, is a supermodel cover girl captured close up in copper hues. Tinted lenses filter through an amber light and vintage shoes are saturated in tangerine tones.
Sometimes it’s nice to view the world through rose tinted glasses. Seeing things in a different light. These retro sunglasses are ideal for flooding my vision with warm sun-kissed tones.
The iconic Artemide Nesso Table Lamp, casts a warm amber glow over these vintage platform heels which just like the lamp, originated from Italy in the Sixties. The classic light has been reissued but this version belonged to my Dad and was bought in the Seventies. I’m enjoying how the shoes, with their polished block heels twin with the lamp!
This is a gorgeous Nova Magazine cover from July 2000, Issue #2, “Kate Moss Gets Personal”. Shot by Jurgen Teller, its striking copper-hued close up, feels so Seventies retro. This Noughties relaunch of Nova lasted for just thirteen issues.
Original Nova publications from the Sixties and Seventies, ran for eleven years, renowned for their strong visual style and original content for the modern women.
My old editions of magazines live in an up-cycled sideboard in the lounge. I’ve kept my favourite back issues either for their cover or a stunning photoshoot inside. Choice copies of Vogue, Elle & Elle Decoration, Nylon and more are stacked high.
Flicking through the Noughties’ Nova made me intrigued about the original Nova publications of the Sixties and Seventies. So I treated myself to a hardback copy of Nova 1965-1975 (Compiled by David Hillman and Harry Peccinotti. Edited by David Gibbs). An enthralling photo retrospective. I kicked off my heels, switched on my Nesso Table Lamp and soaked in the pages under an orange glow of nostalgia!
