A Vintage dress for feeling forever young

Admiring eyes purring,

“You look lovely hun!”

I’m anticipating some-kind-of-wonderful fun

You, me and a weekend on the run

I can imagine us strolling and sauntering along

Me, a hint of cleavage, you, a button undone

Both lamenting how spring still hadn’t sprung

Enough for bare arms

Without the warmth of the sun

Wearing you will be such a treat

Your 70s cotton feeling so crisp and neat

A hand in your pocket

As we sashay down the street

Retro florals swishing in a glorious repeat

Wistful glances from everyone we greet

“Red is so your colour!”

The girls will see me and shriek

They’ll ask, “So how did the two of you meet?”

I’ll say, “Online, she’s vintage, totally unique!”
